| This was a real adventure! I had been to Yellowstone
National Park in 1998 after the disastrous winter of mud and ice in
upstate New York that year. I missed sledding in 1999 due to work
commitments. By 2000 I was ready for something new and exciting.
I thought that Canada might be the best place to go for guaranteed snow,
but I couldn't decide where in Canada might be the best. I am
not a francophone so I didn't want to go to Quebec. I found Ed Burke
and Grand Hermine Adventures on the internet. Located in Labrador
West approximately a 1200 mile drive from New York City, The towns of
Labrador City and Wabush offer some of the least crowded trails you will
ever find. I mean you might go all day and see only one or two other
sledders. Absolutely gorgeous scenery and wildlife. Plenty of
